You are allowed to use a pen or pencil for your IELTS writing test. However, for listening and reading tests, you must use a pencil (don’t forget to take an eraser with you).

You can use the test on which you scored the highest as long as the result is still valid (which means as long as it is not more than two years old).

Please contact the test center where you booked your IELTS test. You will get a refund minus administration charges if you postpone or cancel your test more than 5 weeks before the test date. If you postpone or cancel within 5 weeks of the test date, you will be charged the full fee unless you have a valid medical reason. If you cannot attend due to a serious medical condition and provide a medical certificate within 5 days of the test date, a refund after the local administrative cost is deducted will be received. If you are delayed by circumstances beyond your control, such as a transport strike, the test center may offer you a test on the next available slots (test dates).
